Today, the stage has reached to such an extent that people cannot imagine surviving without cell phones. Having cell phones and accessing it is not sufficient. You have to be aware if the types of batteries that are used in cell phones. The types of batteries available in the market are different from one another. No two batteries function identically. The batteries lifetime varies in each type.
Formerly, nickel cadmium batteries were of great use as they were less expensive and were affordable. The disadvantage of these batteries was that it had to be completely discharged and then recharged every time. This was followed by the Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. These batteries were also available at affordable prices and the memory effect was less. These batteries also had to be totally discharged and the recharging was possible after the twentieth cycle. The Lithium batteries are the latest batteries and the new innovation of the advanced technology.
Lithium batteries are very expensive in comparison to the earlier models. Lithium batteries need not be discharged or recharged. Moreover, lithium batteries are not affected by the memory effects. Following the Lithium Ion batteries, the Lithium Polymer batteries came into existence. This is the newest technology. Comparing the earlier models, the lithium battery cell phones are also sleeker, lighter and superior. The lifetime of lithium batteries depends on the way you handle it. For longer lifetime of lithium batteries, there are certain rules that need to be followed such as the batteries should not be overcharged as it damages the phone.
The lithium batteries generally get charged in a short period of nearly three to four hours. The lithium batteries in the cell should be handled meticulously. The cell phone should not be kept on vibration mode as it drains the battery more. So keeping ring tone is essential to have a better lifetime of the battery. Similarly, the light on the cell phone should be set to the minimal so that when you switch on the phone, the light is low. However, whenever you are in an analog area, it is recommended to switch off your phone as it is strenuous on the batteries lifetime. Throwing the instrument down that has the lithium batteries disturbs the contacts of the battery and the device and leads to reduction in lifetime. The batteries should be kept in dry and cool place for better lifetime. It is always best to use original batteries.
