Canon Sd790 Is
The new Canon SD790 IS has the same sleek, compact design that has become Canons signature. There is also a new wheel control, this takes a little bit of use to get use to. It also has a new motion detector. The best part is that this little camera takes fantastic pictures.
The new SD790 IS comes in the same simple silver design that all the Elphs do. It weighs in at about 6.4 ounces when it is loaded with batteries and memory card. This makes it a bit heavier then previous models but it is a sturdy camera.
The biggest update to the camera is the new wheel control. In the past the previous models had control wheels that did not physically move. On this camera it does. This makes it a little hard to get used to considering that it is very touch sensitive. It is very easy to skip past the selection that you want to make. With a little patience and practice though this can be mastered and in the end it turns out to be much faster then the previous wheel controls.
Another nice update is the megapixels. The previous model had eight mega pixels while the newer version offers a whopping ten. This means that this little camera take very high quality pictures. Canon has also added a new motion detection feature to the SD790 IS. This allows the camera to adjust exposure and ISO whenever it detects motion.
This camera can also brag of an updated auto white balance mode. Instead of the camera focusing on the picture as a whole it will focus in on any faces that are in the view and give higher resolution portraits.
The SD790 IS can also add being relatively fast to its list of accomplishments. Although you will notice that most point and shoot cameras take a while to turn on and start up the SD790 is up and running at a mere 1.8 seconds. It also only takes 2.7 seconds to get from one shot to the next. You can take decent videos with it too. It is easy to use and the quality is very nice. There is not much blur that is picked up when in high speed either.
Overall the SD790 IS is a great update to an already stellar line of cameras. With a new speed wheel control and the higher megapixels this camera is quick easy and takes a great picture.
