There are several GPS Navigator systems that have helped aftermarket car navigator market growth. There are good and bad things about factory installed GPS navigators, and the same can be said for aftermarket GPS navigation systems.
The way that a factory installed GPS navigation system is generally more desirable than their aftermarket counterparts. There may be issues with trying to figure out exactly where to put one on a car., and deciding where it will be least likely to be in the way. Some factory installed systems have features that the aftermarket devices do not have.
On the downside, once a factory installed GPS system is bought and paid for, you lose the option to choose different features like the ones that are on many aftermarket GPS navigation Systems. Mapping for factory installed navigation systems are supplied by the manufacturer of the GPS, and in many cases, the maps are no longer up to date. There is very little support in finding ways to update your mapping system because the car dealers usually don’t know anything about it. If you could purchase an upgrade, it is way more costly than the standard fees.
The fact that aftermarket GPS navigator market growth continues to rise is because many features not available in the factory installed GPS systems, are available in the aftermarket versions., and they are usually much cheaper.
One of the main things that people find worrisome is the fact that with factory installed GPS navigators, it cannot be used while the vehicle is in motion. You must be at a standstill in order to work the GPS. In the aftermarket, portable versions, the vehicle can be in motion, and the GPS will still operate normally.
Another thing is that car dealers generally know next to nothing about electronics, so any questions you might have about the use and operation of your GPS navigation system will not be addressed.
If a problem arises with your factory installed GPS navigation system, it has to go to the dealer for repairs, which are expensive and a headache. You will not be able to use your vehicle while it is being repaired.
You are not able to transfer in car navigation systems from one car to another, whereas with aftermarket GPS navigation systems, they are either portable, or you can get a kit for changing it out.
You can’t take factory installed GPS navigation systems with you wherever you go, like you can with the aftermarket GPS navigation systems.
This is why the aftermarket GPS car navigator market growth has continued to go up every year.
