Another thing is that car dealers generally know next to nothing about electronics, so any questions you might have about the use and operation of your GPS navigation system will not be addressed.

If a problem arises with your factory installed GPS navigation system, it has to go to the dealer for repairs, which are expensive and a headache. You will not be able to use your vehicle while it is being repaired.

You are not able to transfer in car navigation systems from one car to another, whereas with aftermarket GPS navigation systems, they are either portable, or you can get a kit for changing it out.

You can’t take factory installed GPS navigation systems with you wherever you go, like you can with the aftermarket GPS navigation systems.
